Ayutthaya is the ancient capital city of Siam (Thailand)
founded around 1350. From India we had our stopover in Bangkok for 3 days before
heading back to Manila, to visit this magnificent place, a UNESCO World
Heritage Site since 1991. Ayutthaya is popular among travellers as a day trip
from Bangkok. Ayutthaya can be reached by Train, by Bus and by Boat from
Bangkok. There are also a mini-vans that transport for everyone to Ayutthaya which departs every 20
minutes from Victory Monument. We took the mini-van and after an hour we
arrived in Ayutthaya.
Getting around in Ayutthaya is not horrible. There are lot
of Tuk-Tuk service offers for a whole day tour. The drivers speak English well.
We presented our itinerary so that they will not drive us to some
factories or stores which is time-consuming. The service fee is affordable,
even for solo travellers. After the tour they dropped us at the mini-van
terminal going back to Bangkok.
What to expect in Ayutthaya?
